Come along on this bon voyage with special guest Elizabeth Hyde as she explores the collection, cultivation,
and display of flowers in late 17th-century France. Flowering plants piqued the curiosity of European
gardeners and botanists, merchants and ministers, dukes and kings. Our guide will take us through the gardens
of Versailles and the sophisticated nurseries created to fulfill the demands of Louis XIV’s gardeners. Through
beautiful photos and exquisitely-detailed maps and plans, Beth will expand our understanding
of the importance of flowers in the French classical garden.
